The Event Before the Event Starts Now!
Born and raised in Ohio, Emil Wilbekin grew up loving fashion. And by following the wisdom of “do what you love,” he became a major player in the fashion world – as a journalist, stylist, brand consultant and President/CCO of World of Wilbekin. His impressive credentials include Editor-at-Large at ESSENCE Magazine and Fashion Director and Editor-in-Chief at Vibe. Emil recently sat down with us to talk about personal style, working with Tom Ford, Alfred Hitchcock, how to accessorize to make a statement, and what he likes about Caché.
As the days grow shorter, temperatures begin to dip and consumers start their oh-too-familiar exercise of layering on their sweaters and jackets, stores and online portals are chock full of seasonal apparel to ward off the chill of the coming months. The fashion teams at Caché, led by SVP and Design Director, Jennifer Ehrenfeld, have searched the international markets and translated current trends into wearable items for today’s consumer. With their finger on the pulse of what’s happening in fashion, this experienced team has taken the guesswork out of choosing holiday 2014 wardrobe essentials for the fashion-conscious woman.
Mixed media, new lengths, layer theory. We sat down with our very own SVP of Design, Jennifer Ehrenfeld to discuss Caché’s new look and what to expect from the brand.
At Caché, the collection is continually evolving to reflect a modern woman’s sensibility. Cache clothing is trend-right and now offers a wider product assortment to attract a broader range of consumers – to appeal to that woman who never thought about shopping in Caché before. Our goal is to become a true lifestyle destination…after all; every woman has a little Caché in her!
It’s week two of New York Fashion Week and after a weekend of model mayhem, presentations, celebrity sightings and after parties, we’re hitting the runway again to give you an update on the newest trends coming down the catwalk.
Spring 2015 is all about color with white taking the lead as the “it-color” of the season. Along with cuts, details and plenty of patterns you can also look forward to color blocking, mixed media and lots of lace. Sheer and fur make an impact and we even noticed small doses of metallic, pale pink and mesh.
Take a look at some of the trends we’re seeing below:
As our journey continues we’re all aboard a high speed train to our next destination. Enjoy soaking up the scenery while sipping espresso. As you make your way up the Amalfi Coast, through Rome, and across the hills of Tuscany you’ll come across a lavish city where striking architecture surrounds you, flower boxes line the windowsills and gondolas float along narrow canals. You’re in Venice, one of the most revered, romantic cities on the sea.
The unique blend of art, history and culture inspires your color choices for the month. You’ll be robed in shades of currant, silver and gunmetal, illuminated by moments of pink and silver hardware. Textured ombré prints and Venetian lace patterns reflect the region’s heritage. By mid-month black and ivory pieces with sculptured seaming and pattern blocking will refresh the collection.
You feel renewed and enriched by the beauty that surrounds you. As you transition in to fall you’re ready to take the next step – it’s about the journey, not just the destination! Presenting the Caché Design Team’s favorite pieces from our September Collection:
A round of applause to the mastermind who decided salmon eggs benedict and mimosas were a must between breakfast and lunch! Who doesn’t love brunch? It’s the perfect opportunity to get “weekend dressed,” gather your friends, and meet for the most important meal of the weekend.
For those of you thinking you’ve got nothing to wear and nowhere to go, we’ve got some brunch-right outfit suggestions and here’s the skinny on one of our favorite NYC brunch locations:
Tucked away in the West Village, Agave is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city. They’ve got a downstairs dining room, a sunroom and outdoor seating, and a menu that runs the gamut from Spinach Empanaditas to Sunrise Fiesta Burritos to Ahi Tuna Tartar. When it comes to the bar, three words: Full Tequila Menu.
We strongly suggest you treat yourself to brunch this weekend, ladies – eat, drink, talk, and look beautiful doing it.
