A leader in the industry since 1976, Caché continues to evolve, and West 38th is our way of inviting you on this journey to discover the brand in a whole new way.
The mind behind this mission is Blogger in Chief, Morgan Jones. Last week we had the opportunity to sit down with her to discuss the current buzz surrounding our favorite boutique.
How did you become involved with Caché?
I started working at Caché about a year ago, in the middle of the company’s rebranding efforts. The CEO, Jay Margolis had just recently taken over the company and his dedication to pushing the Caché forward in the fashion industry has opened the doors for all kinds of exciting opportunities.
I began my career with Caché in the Marketing Department focusing on E-Commerce and Digital/Social Media. I developed a passion for our collections and all that went in to the production behind each piece – from designing in-house to working with vendors to allocations and planning. And especially the wonderful world of merchandising, where I am now, under the guidance of Christine Board, Caché’s Senior Director of Merchandising.
Why should women “Discover” Caché?
Growing up I used to walk through the mall with my family or friends and I would always notice Caché. Seeing the clothing in the windows, I always thought “I’m going to shop there when I get older.” When I ask girls what they think of Caché now, most of them say the same thing.
One of the most amazing things about Caché is that for years, grandmothers, mothers and daughters have all bought clothing, dresses and even prom gowns from Caché, a legacy that’s been handed down from generation to generation, not just in the US, but worldwide.
As a company we, consider that loyalty a privilege that’s our responsibility to uphold and strengthen. That’s something that makes Caché very unique. It’s our goal to provide women of every age (you’re only as old as you feel) with clothing that makes them feel beautiful, confident and sexy. That puts a lot of weight on our shoulders as a company, but it’s something that everyone here – from designer to store associate – is dedicated to.
I can’t tell you how many people have told me how much they love the direction Caché is going, and how excited they are to go shopping – right before they ask if they can borrow my employee discount card. It’s that kind of response to collections that keeps me excited!
What does it mean to be a “Caché Girl,” and do you consider yourself one?
I absolutely consider myself a Caché girl. Being Caché isn’t just about the clothing but the girl in them. The first Caché was the brainchild of Marilyn Rubinson, a woman with a vision and a passion for women’s finery. When she opened her first boutique in 1976, women flocked there, drawn by her confidence and one-of-a-kind styles. Caché is about giving you the strength and confidence as a woman in all aspects of your life and making sure you look amazing every day
What’s next for West 38th?
There are so many great things coming. For starters, Fashion Week. I’ll be reporting from the tents and am more than a little excited about that.
I’m also looking forward to writing more travel posts and more about international fashion and trends, beauty and wellness tips, and giving you the inside scoop about what’s going on inside Caché.
